Free video lessons, topic by topic

632 free videos on 249 topics of 20 national exams. Official classes from NCERT (the PM eVIDYA classes) and NPTEL come first where they exist; then free YouTube teachers, picked by the rule below. Shishya did not make these videos and does not copy them: on a topic page a video plays in YouTube's own player only when you tap Play, and every video also opens on YouTube. 79 of the videos are in Hindi (marked). Videos checked on 23 October 2026 and 27 October 2026 (each video shows its own day on its topic page).

How the videos are picked

  1. Official first: for school-syllabus and engineering topics we also search the official channels (NCERT, which carries the PM eVIDYA classes, and NPTEL); a video found there is listed first. For JEE Main, NEET UG and UPSC Prelims topics (from 27 Oct 2026) we also search SATHEE (Ministry of Education with IIT Kanpur) and the IIT-PAL lecture channels (SWAYAM PRABHA channel 22), at most one official video per language.
  2. Teachers: only channels on a fixed list of well-known free YouTube teaching channels for these exams (below). A channel is never added or removed for money: no listing here is paid for.
  3. How a teacher video is picked: we search YouTube for the topic and the exam name (then, if needed, the same words plus 'class') and take the first results, in YouTube's own order, from channels on the list, where the title names the topic. At most two teacher videos per topic, never two from the same teacher brand (one brand often runs many channels).
  4. Every video is a lesson of at least 5 minutes, plays free on YouTube, and its owner allows it to be embedded. We check each one and show the day we checked it.
  5. Videos are shown, never copied: the player is YouTube's own (youtube-nocookie.com) and loads only when you tap Play.
  6. Teacher videos are listed in alphabetical order of channel, not by views or by who made them.
  7. No video on a Class 1-7 exam's page.
  8. For the JEE Main, NEET UG and UPSC Prelims topics added on 27 Oct 2026, the title must name the topic (or its NCERT chapter name); only English or Hindi videos; never a video for a class below 11 (JEE, NEET) or below 9 (UPSC).
  9. Language: a video is marked Hindi or English only when its title says so or YouTube's own automatic captions for it are in that language; otherwise no language is shown.
  10. For the JEE Main, NEET UG and UPSC Prelims topics added on 27 Oct 2026, Shishya's AI model chose among the videos that passed every check above (a full lesson over a question session); the same checks were run again on its choice, and where it could not choose, the first result in YouTube's order was kept.

What this list is not

It is not a ranking of teachers and not every good video: it is a start: for JEE Main, NEET UG and UPSC Prelims, the syllabus topics where a video passed the rule; for the other exams, a few topics each. A video can be removed or changed by its owner after we checked it. Playing a video loads it from YouTube; YouTube's own terms apply there.
