Shishya (https://shishya.in) is one smart place to study for students in India: a free, AI-supported practice platform with independent sections for school (CBSE/NCERT and CISCE, Classes 1-12), entrance exams (JEE, NEET, CUET, NDA, olympiads), government exams (UPSC, SSC, banking, railways, state PSCs, police, teacher-eligibility tests), colleges and scholarships, and careers. It covers 192 entrance and government exams with 39,300+ practice questions answer-checked by AI before they are shown, mocks, previous-year-pattern sets and exam dates marked official, reported or expected; 1,146 NCERT chapters linked to the official books, 124 of them with Shishya's own notes and checked practice; 77 colleges from NIRF 2025 rankings, 186 scholarships and 94 career guides; and an AI tutor in English and 18 Indian languages — every study feature is free, with no paywall.

Why it exists
Every year crores of students in India study for board exams, entrance exams, college admissions and government jobs, and many are told the serious way to prepare is a paid coaching institute. Shishya exists to remove that cost: school chapter pages with the official books linked (and Shishya's own notes and checked practice where they are ready), mock tests and previous-year-pattern papers for entrance and government exams, a personal AI tutor in 18 Indian languages, a day-by-day coach plan, cutoffs, and college, scholarship and career pages — free, in the student's own language.
The platform is AI-first and runs with a tiny team, which is why it can stay free for students permanently. The only thing that ever carries a price is optional human time: a short mentor session with someone who has cleared your exam, first session free, then ₹9 per session inclusive of GST (see Pricing).
