IIT Madras will organize GATE 2027, with the official notification anticipated in the first week of July 2026. The exam will be conducted for 30 papers including Computer Science, with approximately 10 lakh candidates expected to appear nationwide.
The GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) will begin accepting registrations from late August 2026. Candidates can apply for up to two paper combinations, with the regular deadline expected in late September and extended deadline with late fee in mid-October.
The Computer Science paper will be conducted across multiple sessions in February 2027. Exact branch-wise schedule will be announced with the official notification, with admit cards downloadable from January 3, 2027.
Students currently in their third year or higher of undergraduate engineering programs are eligible to apply for GATE 2027. There is no age limit, and the exam provides pathways to M.Tech admissions at IITs, NITs, and PSU recruitment opportunities.
IIT Madras will release results in March 2027 on the GOAPS portal. The scorecard will remain valid for three years for M.Tech admissions and one year for PSU recruitment, with counseling through COAP and CCMT expected to begin in April 2027.
