Left out or changed by Shishya: All 18 nationally notified biosphere reserves in the MoEFCC table were considered (not only the UNESCO-listed ones, so the slug's 'unesco' is loose: rows are BR -> state). Left out because they span more than one state: Nilgiri (Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka), Agasthyamalai (Kerala, Tamil Nadu), Achanakmar-Amarkantak (Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh). The MoEFCC note marks 12 BRs as in UNESCO's World Network; it is out of date on that point only: PIB backgrounder 'Sustaining Life, Celebrating Nature: India's Biosphere Reserves' (3 Nov 2025, https://static.pib.gov.in/WriteReadData/specificdocs/documents/2025/nov/doc2025113683301.pdf) says 13 are UNESCO-recognised after Cold Desert (Himachal Pradesh) was added in Sept 2025. The 18-reserve list and states are unchanged in that PIB note (it gives 18 BRs, 91,425 sq km, Panna 2011 newest). Spellings 'Seshaschalam', 'Simlipal', 'Sunderbans' as printed. No question should ask which BRs are UNESCO-listed from this file.
Names and spellings are kept as the source prints them. Spotted a change on the official page? The list is re-read from the source, never from other sites.
