Spoken English role-play

Pick a situation and talk with an AI that plays the other person — an interviewer, a bank clerk, a customer, an examiner, a shopkeeper or the person on a phone call. Speak (or type) up to 6 replies, then get AI feedback on your words. Your first conversation needs no account; sign up free to keep practising (10 conversations a day). Want one a day? Follow the 30-day plan.

What happens to your voice and words

Speech-to-text is done by your browser, not by Shishya; in Chrome and Edge that service runs on Google's or Microsoft's servers under their terms. Shishya never receives or stores audio. The text of each reply is sent to an AI model for the next line (it may be Anthropic's Claude) and is not stored. Long numbers and email addresses are removed before the AI sees them; everyone and everything in these scenes is made up, and the AI is told never to ask for your real details.

We judge words, not accent

The AI reads only the words, so it does not judge accent or pronunciation. It scores three things from 1 to 4: words for the situation, grammar, clarity. It is practice feedback from an AI that can be wrong, not an exam band.

This practice uses your microphone and an AI conversation partner, so it is for students aged 13 and up.
