MahaDBT (Maharashtra): register, apply and track

Maharashtra's government scholarships (post-matric and others) are applied for on MahaDBT (mahadbt.maharashtra.gov.in). Payments go by Direct Benefit Transfer, so the bank-account step matters as much as the form.

Every step below was read on the official pages listed at the end, on 22 Oct 2026.

Shishya never asks for your Aadhaar, bank details or any ID. Nothing on this page asks you for anything. Type those details only on the official portal, at its own address.

Register

  1. Open MahaDBT and choose new applicant registration. MahaDBT ↗
  2. With Aadhaar: answer "Do You Have Aadhaar Card?" with Yes and verify by Aadhaar OTP (biometric if your mobile is not linked to Aadhaar). Then create your username and password.
  3. Without Aadhaar: verify your email and mobile by OTP and upload the proofs the page asks for. With only an Aadhaar Enrolment ID, the page points to resident.uidai.gov.in to check its status.

Apply

  1. Log in and complete the Profile: personal details, address, other information, qualification, hostel details and current course.
  2. Open All Schemes, see the schemes your profile qualifies for, and Apply.
  3. Upload the documents asked, submit, and tell your college — it verifies the application.

Track

  • "My Applied Scheme" shows each Application ID and its status; MahaDBT says granular application tracking is live.
  • DBT blocked because Aadhaar is not seeded to your bank? MahaDBT's notice says students can open an India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) account at a post office.
