- SOF IMO does not officially implement category-based reservations; the above ranges reflect typical score distributions where SC/ST/OBC students may qualify for recognition awards at slightly lower absolute scores due to internal school/state ranking mechanisms and participation patterns.
- General-vs-OBC differential is modest (4-5 marks), as the exam rewards conceptual strength universally; year-to-year shifts of ±2-3 marks occur based on paper difficulty and the cohort's performance distribution.
- Cutoffs for medals/recognition certificates vary by class level and regional participation density; achieving 76%+ consistently places students in state-level excellence brackets across all backgrounds.
