The official JKTET 2026 Notification has not been released yet. According to sources, JKBOSE is aligning the J&K curriculum with NCTE standards. The notification was expected by March-April 2026 but is still pending.
The J&K Government has officially designated JKBOSE and the State School Standards Authority (SSSA) as the Nodal Agencies for conducting JKTET-2026 under Government Order No. 87-JK (Edu) of 2026, following a Supreme Court judgment on RTE Act implementation.
Qualifying JKTET is now compulsory for all teaching positions in both Government and Private registered schools in J&K. In-service teachers who haven't qualified TET must do so within 2 years or face compulsory retirement.
