While JKBOSE has been confirmed as the conducting authority, the official JKTET 2026 notification with application dates has not yet been released. The exam is expected to be held in August 2026.
The J&K Government has officially designated JKBOSE and the State School Standards Authority (SSSA) as the Nodal Agencies for conducting JKTET 2026, following a Supreme Court ruling on RTE Act implementation.
As per the Supreme Court ruling, TET qualification is now a mandatory legal requirement for all teachers at the elementary level in government and private schools across J&K, except minority institutions.
