- FANBOYS Coordinating — Coordinating conjunctions: For, And, Nor, But, Or, Yet, So. Connect two independent clauses with comma before FANBOYS.
- A/AN Rule Quick — Use AN before vowel *sounds* (an hour, an MLA), A before consonant sounds (a university, a one-rupee coin). Sound matters, not spelling letter.
- Subject-Verb Distance Trap — Ignore words between subject-verb: "The bag of marbles *is* here" (bag=singular subject). Prepositional phrases (of/with/along with) don't change subject number.
- Modal Certainty Scale — Certainty descending: must/will > should/ought to > can/may/might. "Must" = 95% sure; "might" = 20% sure. Use for logical deduction questions.
- Preposition TIME Rule (ION-AT) — IN months/years/seasons, ON dates/days, AT specific times. "IN 2024, ON Monday, AT 5 PM" — remember ION-AT sequence for time.
Mathematics (Paper I)
- Divisibility by 11 Trick — Alternate digit sum difference: 3784 → (3+8)-(7+4)=0, divisible by 11. If difference is 0 or multiple of 11, number divides by 11.
- LCM×HCF Formula — For two numbers: LCM × HCF = Product of the two numbers. If three values given, find fourth instantly. Works only for exactly two numbers.
- Fraction to Decimal Shortcuts — ⅛=0.125, ⅙=0.166..., ⅕=0.2, ¼=0.25, ⅓=0.333..., ½=0.5. Memorize these six; others derive from doubling/halving (e.g., 3/8 = 3×0.125).
- Area Formulas TRPC — Triangle=½bh, Rectangle=lb, Parallelogram=bh, Circle=πr². Remember bases multiply height except triangle (half) and circle (radius squared).
- Profit/Loss % Base Trap — Profit% = (Profit/CP)×100, Loss% = (Loss/CP)×100. Always on Cost Price, never SP. Two successive discounts: NOT additive, use (1-d₁)(1-d₂) formula.
