How to become a Commercial Pilot (Airlines)

2 viable paths.

  • Class 12 (PCM) → CPL training (₹35-50L cost) → Type rating → Airline

    Most direct. Flight schools (IGRUA, BFTI) + DGCA exam + 200 flight hours minimum.

  • Air Force / Navy fighter pilot → Airline pivot

    Senior military pilots transition to airlines after retirement.
