The Ministry of Education's special scholarship, run by AICTE, pays college fees up to a cap by stream and a fixed ₹1 lakh yearly maintenance allowance for students from J&K and Ladakh who take a UG seat outside the two UTs through AICTE's SSSJKL counselling (or on their own in listed institutions). Register once a year on AICTE's SSSJKL portal; renewals are on NSP.

Academic fee paid to the college: up to ₹30,000 a year for a general degree; up to ₹1.25 lakh a year for professional courses (engineering, nursing, pharmacy, hotel management, architecture subject to NATA, BA LLB at an NLU) and for Diploma lateral entry into 2nd-year engineering; up to ₹3 lakh a year for medical/BDS. Plus a fixed maintenance allowance of ₹1 lakh a year paid to the student in instalments through NSP. 5,000 fresh scholarships a year (2,070 general, 2,830 professional/engineering, 100 medical).

Register once a year on AICTE's SSSJKL portal. In recent years registration ran between May and July (2024: 18 Jun–29 Jul; 2025: 1 May–13 Jun; 2026: 16–29 Jul), and counselling follows it (in 2026 Round 3 ran to 30 Sep). Renewals are on NSP; 2026-27 renewals opened 1 Jun 2026.
