Mock test analysis: where you lost marks
After every mock on Shishya, the results page shows where the marks went. It is worked out from what the attempt already records — your answer, right or wrong, and the seconds you spent on each question. No AI is used for it and nothing new is stored.
What the results page shows
Where you lost marks
Each wrong answer with your time, the median time, and whether it was rushed or slow; marks lost to negative marking; an official overall cut-off out of the same total marks, where Shishya holds one.
Time per question
A bar for every question in paper order — green right, red wrong, grey skipped — with a line at your own median time.
Fast or slow, right or wrong
Four boxes counting your answered questions: fast and right, fast and wrong, slow and right, slow and wrong.
May be careless
Easy questions you answered fast and wrong, with the marks they would have been worth — and the rule printed under them.
Section scores
Right, wrong, skipped and marks for each section, beside the official sectional cut-off when an official table names the same section out of the same marks; otherwise the page says none is held.
Only my past wrong answers
One tap from the results page opens the mock builder in a mode that draws only on questions you answered wrong and have not yet cleared.
The rules, exactly
Fast = at or under the median time for that question (the same median as the careless rule); slow = over it. Only answered questions with a recorded time are counted; skipped questions are not in any box.
Careless flag rule: a question is flagged when all three hold — (1) it is tagged Easy in Shishya's question bank (Shishya's own tag, not the exam body's), (2) you answered it wrong, and (3) you spent under 50% of the median time for it, or under 8 seconds. The median is other students' median time on the same question of this mock when at least 5 of them have a time for it; otherwise it is your own median time per question on this paper. A flag means "may be careless" — a guess from time and the tag, not a diagnosis.
How this is worked out: a wrong answer is "rushed" when you spent under half the median time on it (or under 8 seconds), "slow" when over one and a half times the median. A rushed wrong answer in a topic you mostly got right may be a rushed mistake; a wrong answer in a topic you mostly got wrong may be a concept gap. It is a guess from time and topic, not a diagnosis.
Sectional cut-offs come only from official tables stored with their year and source (the same rows as each exam's cut-off page). A cut-off is compared only when the table names the same section out of the same maximum marks. A mock is not the exam, and a past cut-off is not this year's.
"Only my past wrong answers" uses the Mistake Notebook's rule: questions answered wrong in your last 20 finished attempts on that exam and not yet answered right twice in a row. Starred questions are not included.
