SSC JE — Junior Engineer Examination (Staff Selection Commission)

The Staff Selection Commission's Junior Engineer Examination 2026 recruits Junior Engineers (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Telecom) for central government organisations and Scientific Assistants for the India Meteorological Department — Group B posts in Level-6 (Rs 35,400–1,12,400); 1,748 tentative vacancies. Notice of 2 September 2026: applications closed on 22 September 2026 (fee by 23 September); the correction window is 28–30 September 2026. Paper-I (computer-based, qualifying) is tentatively scheduled for October/November 2026 and Paper-II for December 2026 — no dates yet. Paper-I: 200 questions for 200 marks in 2 hours — General Intelligence and Reasoning 50, General Awareness 50 and the chosen engineering part 100 — with 0.25 mark deducted per wrong answer. Paper-II: 100 questions for 300 marks in 2 hours on the chosen engineering part, 1 mark deducted per wrong answer. Questions in Hindi and English. Age: up to 30 years for most posts and up to 32 for others, on 1 August 2026 (relaxations apply). Education: a degree or diploma in the relevant engineering discipline, as specified post by post.
