Data Sufficiency ALONE Rule — Test each statement independently FIRST before combining. Options: (A) 1 alone, (B) 2 alone, (C) Either alone, (D) Both needed, (E) Both insufficient. Never assume hidden info.
Percentage-Fraction Quick Converts — 12.5%=1/8, 16.67%=1/6, 14.29%=1/7, 33.33%=1/3, 37.5%=3/8, 62.5%=5/8, 87.5%=7/8. Memorize these for fast calculation without calculator in CSAT.
Coding-Decoding Letter Shift — If CODE→FRGH, shift is +3 (C+3=F). Always count forward/backward systematically. For reverse alphabet (A=Z), use 27-minus-position formula: A(1)→Z(26), B(2)→Y(25).
Blood Relations Gender Trap — Niece/Nephew, Uncle/Aunt have gender. Cousin, sibling, parent are gender-neutral. Draw family tree with +/- for male/female. "Son of sister" = nephew, "daughter of brother" = niece.
Direction Sense NESW Circle — Clockwise: Never Eat Soggy Waffles. Right turn = clockwise 90°, Left turn = anti-clockwise 90°, About-turn = 180°. After odd turns, track net direction using angles divisible by 90.
Passage Tone Keywords — Positive: laudatory, appreciative, optimistic. Negative: critical, pessimistic, scathing. Neutral: analytical, descriptive, objective. Sarcastic: ironic, mocking. Match author's word choice to tone, not your opinion.
Venn Diagram Only-Both Rule — For "only A" = A total minus (A∩B). For "at least one" = A + B - (A∩B). For "exactly one" = only A + only B. Always subtract intersection when calculating exclusive sets.
