FISCAL Deficit Mnemonic — Remember fiscal deficit = Total Expenditure - Total Receipts (excluding borrowings). Use "FISCAL = Funds In Short, Coverage After Loans" to recall it measures how much government must borrow.
Current Account Components: SUTN — Services, Unilateral transfers, Trade (visible), Net income flows. These four make up current account in Balance of Payments calculations.
Five-Year Plan Fathers — Remember PC Mahalanobis for 2nd Plan (heavy industry focus), while 1st Plan was Harrod-Domar model based. "PC brought Heavy Metal" links Mahalanobis to industrialization.
Direct vs Indirect Tax — "DiPeIn gets No Pass-through": Direct hits Person/Income directly, burden cannot shift. Indirect (GST/customs) passes burden to final consumer.
Repo vs Reverse Repo Rate — Repo = RBI Relends to banks (liquidity injection); Reverse Repo = Banks Return money to RBI (liquidity absorption). Rate differential creates LAF corridor.
