Mathematics (Paper I)
Divisibility by 3 or 9 — Sum all digits; if sum divisible by 3 (or 9), original number is too. Quick check: 156 → 1+5+6=12 → 12÷3=4, so 156÷3 works.
LCM×HCF Formula — For two numbers: LCM × HCF = Product of the two numbers. To find missing value, multiply the two numbers and divide by known value.
Area vs Perimeter Units — Area always in square units (cm², m²); Perimeter in linear units (cm, m). Common error: writing area in cm instead of cm².
Percentage to Fraction Quick — 25%=¼, 50%=½, 75%=¾, 10%=1/10, 20%=⅕, 33⅓%=⅓, 12.5%=⅛. Memorize these eight conversions for speed.
Profit/Loss Formula Direction — Profit% = (Profit/CP)×100; always divide by Cost Price (what you paid), not Selling Price. Common trap in exams.
BODMAS Rule — Brackets, Of (powers/roots), Division, Multiplication, Addition, Subtraction. Left-to-right for equal operations (DM together, AS together).
