Physics

AC Phase Rule (XL–XC) — In series LCR: voltage leads current when XL > XC (inductive), lags when XC > XL (capacitive). Remember "CIVIL": in C (capacitor) I leads V, in L (inductor) V leads I.

Shortest Distance Between Skew Lines — Formula: |[(b₁−b₂)·(a₁×a₂)]| / |a₁×a₂|. Mnemonic: "Vector connecting points, dot with cross of directions, divide by cross magnitude."

Plane Equation Forms — ax+by+cz=d (general); (a,b,c) is normal vector. Distance from (x₁,y₁,z₁) to plane = |ax₁+by₁+cz₁−d|/√(a²+b²+c²). Plug-and-chug with normal vector.

Binomial Coefficient Symmetry — ⁿCᵣ = ⁿCₙ₋ᵣ. Middle term(s): if n even, (n/2+1)th term; if n odd, ((n+1)/2)th and ((n+3)/2)th terms have max coefficient.

Greatest Coefficient Trick — In (1+x)ⁿ, coefficient maximum at middle term(s). For numerical max, check terms near (n+1)/(k+1) = x where k is term number.

Binomial rth Term — Tᵣ₊₁ = ⁿCᵣ · aⁿ⁻ʳ · bʳ (not Tᵣ!). Remember "+1 shift" – 3rd term means r=2. Independent of x: sum of powers of x and 1/x = 0.
