IIT JAM — Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM 2027, IIT Kharagpur)

JAM (Joint Admission Test for Masters) 2027 is organised by IIT Kharagpur for admission to M.Sc., M.Sc. (Tech), MS (Research), M.Sc.–M.Tech dual degree, joint M.Sc.–PhD, M.Sc.–PhD dual degree and integrated PhD programmes at the IITs and other institutes; the JAM 2027 site lists 3,000 seats. One computer-based exam on Sunday 14 February 2027 in two sessions — forenoon 9:30–12:30: Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics; afternoon 2:30–5:30: Biotechnology, Economics, Mathematical Statistics, Physics. A candidate may take one paper, or two in different sessions. Every paper: 60 questions, 100 marks, 3 hours — Section A 30 multiple-choice questions (one-third of a mark deducted for a wrong 1-mark answer and two-thirds for a wrong 2-mark answer), Section B 10 multiple-select questions and Section C 20 numerical-answer questions, with no negative marking in B or C. Applications 11 September – 19 October 2026; results 18 March 2027. Eligibility: an undergraduate degree, or appearing in its final examination in 2027; open to all nationals, no age restriction.
