CUET UG 2026: Last-Minute Checklist – What to Do Before Exam Day
One week to go for CUET UG. Here's the cheat-sheet to revise — what to carry, last-mile topics, formulae, mock targets.
You're Almost There
Admit cards are in hand, exam dates are locked. Now is not the time for panic or new topics—it's time to consolidate, organise, and rest. Here's exactly what to do in the final stretch before CUET UG 2026.
Tonight's Revision Plan
Use this evening schedule to sharpen recall without burning out. Quality over volume.
| Time | What | Why |
|---|---|---|
| 18:00–19:00 | Domain-specific formulas (Math/Physics/Chem) or keyword lists (History/Polity/Econ) | Active recall beats passive reading; write once by hand |
| 19:00–19:30 | Dinner + 15-min walk | Brain consolidates better after a break |
| 19:30–20:30 | NCERT summary notes for General Test / domain subjects | CUET loves line-by-line NCERT; skim bold terms, definitions, diagrams |
| 20:30–21:00 | 20 MCQs from previous year / mock (timed: 1 min per Q) | Builds speed; identifies silly-mistake patterns |
| 21:00–21:30 | Pack bag, print second admit-card copy, set two alarms | Removes morning chaos |
| 22:30 | Lights out | Sleep > last-hour cramming. Period. |
What to Carry – The Non-Negotiables
Pack tonight. Don't leave it for tomorrow morning.
Must Have
- Admit card (two printed copies—keep one in your bag, one in a parent's)
- Valid photo ID (Aadhaar / PAN / Passport / Driving Licence—exactly as mentioned on admit card)
- Transparent pouch for pens, pencils, eraser, sharpener, cards
- Blue/black ballpoint pens (3–4; some centres allow only pen for rough work)
- Pencil + eraser + sharpener (if OMR/offline mode at your centre)
- Small water bottle (transparent, label removed—check your centre rules)
- Mask (some centres still mandate; carry one just in case)
Leave at Home
- Mobile phone, smartwatch, earphones, calculator
- Printed notes, textbooks, loose paper
- Wallet with cards (carry cash separately if needed)
- Any electronic device
Tip: Verify allowed items on your admit card or official NTA notification. Rules can vary slightly by test city.
Exam-Day Timing
- Reporting time: Usually 1.5–2 hours before the exam start (check your admit card).
- Gate closure: Typically 30–45 minutes before exam begins. After this, you will not be allowed entry.
- Plan to reach: At least 45 minutes before reporting time ends. Traffic, security checks, and bio-metric verification take longer than you think.
- Exam duration: 45–60 minutes per paper (depends on number of domains/sections you're writing).
Pro tip: Do a test run to your centre tomorrow if it's unfamiliar. Know the gate number, parking, and nearest metro/bus stop.
The "Don't Do This" List – Final 24 Hours
Even smart students slip up here. Avoid:
| Don't | Why |
|---|---|
| Start a new chapter or topic | Your brain won't retain it; you'll only add anxiety |
| Pull an all-nighter | Sleep deprivation kills speed and accuracy more than "incomplete syllabus" does |
| Eat anything experimental | Street food, heavy spices, or new cuisines = risky stomach on exam day |
| Discuss answers with peers outside the hall before your session | Breeds doubt and panic; stay in your zone |
| Forget to charge your phone (for travel) but DO switch it off before security | Phones inside = disqualification, even if switched off in some cases |
| Skip breakfast or hydration | Low blood sugar = brain fog by section 2 |
Revision Priority – If You Only Have 4 Hours Left
- General Test: Skim current affairs (last 6 months), mental ability shortcuts, basic logical reasoning patterns.
- Domain 1 (your strongest): Formula sheet, definitions, one-liners—no numerical practice, just recall.
- Domain 2: NCERT chapter summaries, key dates/terms (if humanities), or reaction/equation list (if science).
- Language: Comprehension passages can't be crammed; trust your reading habit. Revise grammar rules (tenses, voices, conjunctions) if that's your weak spot.
On Exam Day – The First 5 Minutes Matter
- Read instructions. Every year, students lose marks because they didn't notice negative marking or attempt limits.
- Skim the whole paper. Spot your strong zones first; answer those to bank easy marks and build confidence.
- Time per question: ~1 minute. If you're stuck beyond 90 seconds, flag and move. Come back if time allows.
- Negative marking? Verify on your question paper. If yes (usually –1 for wrong answers), do not guess wildly. Eliminate two options, then decide.
One Last Thing
You've prepared for months. This exam doesn't define you—it's one gateway among many. But you've earned the right to walk in confident.
Drink water. Sleep on time. Show up ready.
You've got this.
