How to become a Filmmaker / Director

2 viable paths.

  • Film school (FTII, SRFTI, Whistling Woods) → Asst Director → Director

    Most credentialled route. AD years are non-negotiable apprenticeship.

  • Self-taught + short films → Festival recognition

    Indie route; harder but possible.
