# How to take a free SSC CGL mock test online

You can take a free SSC CGL mock test on Shishya at shishya.in/exams/SSC_CGL: full mocks in the exam's pattern, subject tests of up to 25 questions, short topic quizzes and a 'build my own mock' option. After each test you see your score and your weak topics. Shishya's PYQ-pattern sets are freshly worded practice, not the original papers.

For: SSC CGL aspirants who want regular full-length practice without buying a test series.

## Steps

1. **Open the SSC CGL page** — Go to the SSC CGL exam page. It holds the syllabus, the exam dates with their source, cutoffs and every practice set. (https://shishya.in/exams/SSC_CGL)
2. **Pick a test** — Choose a full mock for exam-day practice, a subject test to work on one subject, or a topic quiz for a quick check.
3. **Take it under the timer** — Answer as you would in the exam. Skip questions you are unsure about — SSC CGL has negative marking.
4. **Read your result** — You get your score and your weak topics. Every wrong answer has its solution.
5. **Sign in to keep your progress** — With a free Google sign-in your attempts, weak-topic map and mistakes are saved, and the coach can plan your days. (https://shishya.in/login)
6. **Re-test your mistakes** — Your wrong answers go to the mistake notebook. Re-test them until they are cleared. (https://shishya.in/revision)

## Tips

- Take one full mock a week and topic quizzes on the other days; scores rise from fixing weak topics, not from repeating full mocks.
- The Sunday live test gives you a rank against everyone who took the same paper.
- Where the Staff Selection Commission publishes its own papers and answer keys, the exam page links them.

## When Shishya is not the right tool

Shishya has no live video classes. If you want a teacher to teach each chapter on video, a paid course is the better fit; Shishya is for practice, notes and the AI tutor.

## Questions

**Are these the real previous-year papers?** No. Shishya's PYQ-pattern sets are freshly worded in each year's pattern. The official papers are linked where the exam body publishes them.

**Do I need to pay?** No. Every mock test on Shishya is free, with no premium tier.

**Is there a rank?** The Sunday live test gives a rank among everyone who took it.
