# How to convert CGPA to percentage with your university's formula

To convert CGPA to percentage, use the formula your own board or university publishes — there is no single formula for everyone. Shishya's free converter at shishya.in/tools/cgpa-to-percentage lets you pick your university, applies its official formula and links the circular it comes from. The calculation runs in your browser; nothing you type is stored.

For: Students who need a percentage for a job form, an admission or a scholarship.

## Steps

1. **Open the converter** — Go to the CGPA to percentage page. (https://shishya.in/tools/cgpa-to-percentage)
2. **Find your board or university** — Pick yours from the list. Each one shows its formula and the official circular behind it.
3. **Type your CGPA or SGPA** — Enter the number from your mark sheet.
4. **Read the percentage** — The result appears straight away, with the formula used.
5. **Keep the circular** — Forms often ask how the percentage was worked out; the circular link is your proof.

## Tips

- If your university is listed as not covered, Shishya could not read its formula in an official document — ask your university's exam section.
- Do not use another university's formula: the same CGPA can give different percentages.

## When Shishya is not the right tool

It does not issue a certificate. An official equivalence certificate, if a form asks for one, comes from your university.

## Questions

**Is it CGPA × 9.5?** Only where the board or university says so (CBSE used 9.5). Others use different formulas, which is why the converter asks for yours.

**Is my data saved?** No. The calculation runs in your browser and nothing is sent.
